The evolution of artist Alberto Ulloa: impressionist beginnings, the result of eight years of studies and work in Madrid, Spain, the sensation of Latin American and Caribbean symbols  and experiences, the use of strong and intense colors. From the brush of Alberto Ulloa flowed different approaches, his work evolved from drawing, painting, sculpture and ceramics, that reflects the voluptuous vibration of tropical life. Ulloa stated, "Color is always present, as well as human themes, even -it clarifies- in abstract paintings, where figures disappear, but they are represented". Art critic and writer Virginia Goris, whose elucidating essays on the works of Alberto Ulloa affirms, “As a magician of color and subverter of the image, transformer of artistic traditions to which he confers his distinctive scaffolding, of a singular and authentic stamp, he makes us instantly recognize his shapes, his strokes, his peculiar color, his truth as an insular esthete, which values the local and autochthonous as an expeditious and infallible way to achieve its recognizable universal language”.

Ulloa evolved from the impressionism of Lascaux to neo cubism, the lyricism of abstract forms and expressionism, with boldness and passion. Ulloa's style resists a mere representation; his allegorical works on canvas transmit human symbols and enormous sensibility of his environment. Geometric shapes fused with magical color illustrate the artist's capacity for invention and extraordinary versatility. He created his own language stating, "Art does not function as a reproduction of models, freedom consists in detaching oneself from inheritances, from models and from the past that oppresses us with its grandiloquent presence ...

Ulloa’s compelling creative output and with extraordinary adroitness, absorbed Europe and fused it with something very new, fresh and uniquely his own. He never stopped inventing and reinventing. He was a visionary willing to take bold steps into a boundless universe of the imagination and paving the way for artist from all over the world.  He was a visionary willing to take bold steps into a boundless universe of imagination.
